Polestar Aero Coupe Concept

Polestar_21 Aero Coupe Concept plays with the theme of Performance for the Polestar Design Challenge 2022.
The radical design proposal is inspired by looks of the cars from the past century's "golden '20s" era.
Those jaw-dropping long bonnet designs used to accommodate huge engines, gave us, designers, the term dash-to axle to describe this very premium-looking distance directly linked to the performance aspect.
One hundred years later going fast and having all the power is not enough, when speaking of performance, considering the current state of the planet, and environmental agendas.
Performance needs to be heavily linked to efficiency without losing its puristic core value: it is not how fast you go in the end, but also at what cost.
Now imagine a highly aero-optimized vehicle: low, long, with a perforated front area to minimize drag, designed to slice through the thick., high-speed viscosity of the air with ease, and govern the airflow in all three axes.
Active diffusers and moving fins allow superior airflow control, with variable downforce and venturi effects.
Even though the concepts bodyside is highly three-dimensional the vehicle's wider than the rear front with aero-active fins simulates an airflow similar
to a flat Le-Mans bodystyles with extended tear-off edges, thus also allowing to control of the turbulence behind the car for a tandem-following vehicle, creating a slipstream tunnel.

Thinking more than of oneself -that's what is required to walk the path of sustainable performance successfully.
